STYLE.COM: Fifth Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards

At a time when fewer are willing or able to afford the luxury of high fashion, the industry has an uphill battle. But succeeding in fashion has never been easy, and the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund gives a helping hand to talented fledgling designers.

The big winner on Monday night was Alexander Wang. John Galliano, Vera Wang, Diane von Furstenberg, and Michelle Obama's election night choice Narciso Rodriguez, were among those in attendance.

First Thursday August 2008

First Thursdays are an opportunity to see the art in San Antonio's Southtown before the big First Friday art walk. I like this night because it's easier to focus on the art and talk to the people responsible for the showing the work. This particular night ended at the Museo Alameda, for their DJ series.
